Story time is the best time of the day. Whether we're snuggled up on the couch or cozy in our pjs before bed, reading stories with my little ones is one of my favorite things to do. Everyone has a favorite book they remember from their childhood, and every day, parents and kids are discovering new classics of their own. There are many fabulous children's books out there, some of which everyone knows about and others we would have never discovered had my son not simply pulled a random book off a library shelf. I created this blog to share some of these wonderful stories with you. Think of it as a year's worth of the best children's books around, since no day should be without a great story. In the end, I hope we'll all have discovered at least a few new titles that will have made their way onto our list of family favorites. Enjoy!

Hey Lauren I've used your blog for a long time. Great spot to find new good books for my kids. Thanks for the effort you put into this. I thought you might be interested in this really cool app that turns a children's book into a 3D 'adventure'. I was blown away - didn't know technology like this existed. Anyway, they are doing a kickstarter right now. The books called Goodnight Lad. http://www.snapcanon.com/2014/04/02/amazing-app-will-revolutionize-bedtime-stories/

Hi Lauren! I am a retired teacher and grandmother of two. "Great-Grandma's Gifts" is a picture book about a little girl named Arlene who loved to sew. She grew up into a mother and later on, a grandmother, who made toys, dolls and quilts for her grandchildren. It is a gentle story that celebrates the bond between the generations and shows children that older people were once kids, too. I'd love for you to review it. You can find it at www.splittreepublishing.com and the publisher will be happy to send you a review copy.
Sincerely,
Marianne Jones
